Private School Teen Considers Himself Street-Smart After Avoiding Police in Soho
Parents celebrate 16 Year Olds urban character-building while he flexes NYC danger to cousins and masters which bodegas on St Marks will sell him Vapes
FORT GREENE — Local teenager Dylan Watson, 16, loves to talk about navigating the horrors of Washington Square Park’s “substance-distribution zones” with precision but has recently got lost trying to find organic Goat Cheese in the Fort Greene farmers market for his mother.
“Dylan just loves exploring the city,” his mother, Janet Watson, told reporters while tracking his location on Find My. “It’s really important for kids to experience urban enviroments.” Dylan at that moment was watching his ‘homie’ Augustus buy a 50 dollar preroll from a guy named “Big Mike” in the self described, scary corner near the chess tables.
His parents, who pay $55,000 annually for his private school, believe his Manhattan adventures are building him character. “He’s learning the street smarts,” his father an Lawyer born in a gated Florida community commented. Unfortunately the “street smarts” now means knowing which bodega on St Marks won’t card him for Elf Bars.
Dylan’s knowledge of Washington Square includes optimal times to avoid the “popo”, which NYU dorms have the loosest security, and how to get the best sale on vintage jackets in the park! He reported that his favorite activity was showing cousins who came from around America how dangerous New York City was
